DAY 3 HELL WEEK NOT SO HELLISH

Ok...So not a complete failure with all my goals yesterday...1) Juiced for breakfast lunch and dinner, (Check!) 2) Completed 1 hour of incline walking on the treadmill at 4 mph  (Check!) 3) 30 mins of lower body body lifting (check!) 4) Post my body pictures...Not yet! I am in my work office now, and don’t think I should have a giant pic of my jiggly belly up on my screen for all co-workers to see right now!  I promise I will get these up tonight in the privacy of my home.

The juicing is not hellish as I remember it being the first time. I seem to be taking to it this time quite easily and my energy levels have really started to spike. I'm feeling great today.

Here are my daily stats:

Morning weigh in: 197.4
Total loss to date: -1.2 (Yeehaw!)

Along with a wedding weight loss goal, I also achieved a professional goal yesterday: I accepted a new job and quit my current job! I have been so insanely stressed from jumping through all the interview process loops. (8 interviews in 2 weeks! Dear Lord was I exhausted!) But FINALLY I received the green light that I was officially offered the position (woo hoo!). A different type of weight has been lifted from me.

Today's Plan:

1) Juice Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
2) 1 hour stair master
3) 30 mins upper body lifting
4) Drink more water. I have added reminders to my calendar to drink water throughout the day. I realized that yesterday I wasn’t drinking as much as I should since I was drinking juice. I hope that dehydration doesn’t play much of a role in my weight loss, but it’s likely it does...

Challenges today:  I need to finish hand addressing and putting stamps on the envelopes for our save the dates. This is time consuming and lots of sitting on my butt. I need to make sure this doesn’t cut into my gym time...

DAY 2: Hell Week

Yay! Passed Day 1 (Whoot whoot!)...Also after all was said and done, I kept to my plan juicing for  breakfast and lunch and ate few apples for dinner. I know its better to eat more veggies than fruits, but that darn sweet tooth got me. Apples are waaaay better for me than candy corn anyway...

My workout last night consisted of 1 hour of tredmill and stairmaster (30 mins each) and 30 mins upper body lifting.

Now with Day 2, it is going to be a challenge!...When I first juiced last summer, I referred to the first 4-5 days of juicing as hell week. I just want anything and everything I can’t have. Also, I sorta felt sick. Like coming down with the flu sick. I learned these symptoms are normal and the sick feeling is actually my body getting rid of the bad “toxins”. Luckily this time, I am not having that sick feeling, so far.

Morning weigh in: 198.2
Difference: -0.4 (woo hoo!)

So here is the plan...
1) Made my juices for the day this morning (kale, apple, celery and cucumber)
2) 1 hour of cardio tonight
3) 30 mins of lower body lifting last night.
4) Post my current body pics ( I took some last night to share)

The biggest challenge for me right now is COFFEE. I want it so badly and I feel like I am dragging without it. Once I get through hell week, I know how my energy level skyrockets. They say coffee speeds up metabolism, but also that caffiene causes our bodies to store weight in our midsection. I’m going to stay strong and get off coffee.

More to come...

DAY 1

I hesitated to start this blog because I was embarrassed about putting my fatness completely out there...

I was always a fat kid. Okay when you are a kid, fat doesn’t seem that bad, but I was 6 feet tall by sixth grade. Compared to my peers in class I was monstrous! While I absolutely LOVE being a tall woman, I’d rather be a fit and slender tall woman.

I have young memories with my cousin of hiding in her closet and eating candy bars, lots of them. We were soooooo happy! I still have issues with candy and my sweet tooth to this day. My problem is I love food in general. Cheese, pasta, ice cream, chips, fries, Chinese food, cheese, cheese, cheese... I love it all. I am putting the smack down on all of that right now.

I started dating my now fiance 9 years ago. (9!) He’s my best friend and my sister has thought of him as her brother for a very long time. Not to mention, he’s quite cute if I do say so myself! I have been chomping at the bit for a wedding for at least the last 5 years.

Finally, this past fall...IT HAPPENED. He proposed!

Now, we are 207 days away from this long awaited wedding celebration. I will be wearing my dream dress and I WANT to feel and look beautiful and healthy on that special day.

So why a blog?

The problem is I get distracted easily and need to be held accountable to someone (anyone really)... I need to feel grounded by keeping a journal of my success and failures....So here comes the blog and here I go...

Goal: Weight: 145 pounds (or size 8) in 207 days

Current Weight: 198.6 pounds (Barf!) and a size 14

TO DO:

1) Juicing. Not the big man, steroid kind, but the fruit and veggie kind. I completed a 50 day juice feast this past summer and felt like a superhero! I lost 30 lbs in the process and have been able to keep off 15 all while eating my horrible cheese diet.

If you haven’t heard of this I TOTALLY recommend you check out Joe Cross’ documentary “Fat,Sick and Nearly Dead”

See the full length video for free here: http://www.hulu.com/watch/289122

It’s crazy good.

2) When I need to chew, I’ll grab celery, apple slices and carrots. You know the stuff I SHOULD eat. Not cheese.
3) Forgo my favorite indulgence, wine...(pout and sniffles)
4) Complete 1 hour cardio (incline tredmill walk/jogging, stair master, and elliptical machine), lift weights 30 minutes and work my abs 6 days a week.
5) Post my journey and stats everyday on this blog.

Oh ya, I can totally do this and I will feel so great on my wedding day after completing this plan. Pictures last a lifetime and I want to look amazing. I want to do this for me, as a personal goal. It’s time.

Talk to me! Let me know you are here! Keep me going!

Want to join me? Let me know! Let's do this together.

I’ll keep ya posted...
